About Us

Our Story

Owner and General Manager, Janine (Finch) Carter, moved to Broken Bow during the 6th grade at Bennett Elementary. Her father, Bob Finch, was the first Broken Bow Lake Manager, with the US Army Corps of Engineers. Janine grew up on the lake – enjoying camping, water skiing and campfires with her family and friends on Broken Bow Lake. Everybody always knew “Mr. Finch” was going to be coming by to make sure nobody littered or made too much noise. Bob Finch loved his job as Manager of Broken BowLake for 35 years. He also taught everyone he knew well how to water ski. Janine's mom was a social worker for the State Of Oklahoma. She taught many women how toprepare for a job interview and take on full-time jobs.

Janine launched “Janine’s School of Dance” in Broken Bow at age 15, with dance recitals, pageants and parades under her direction. She continued with dance studios in Ada and Sulphur, OK, while attending East Central University, gaining a bachelor’s degree in Teaching – Health, Physical Education & Recreation / Language Arts. Janine enjoyed a successful 25-year sales career in local and national Advertising – Billboards, Radio, Internet and large prize promotions, based in Oklahoma City, then in Dallas – Ft. Worth. In 2007, she and her husband built a cabin in Hochatown. Shortly afterwards, Janine launched Beavers Bend Adventures, with one cabin.

Beavers Bend Adventures has become a family business, with Janine’s daughter now working for the company and living in Broken Bow. It has grown to 60+ cabins and maintains a great reputation for treating people right and providing clean, well-maintained cabins. Nearby “Aunt Michelle” (Janine’s sister) owns Girls Gone Wine. Michelle's winery partner, Chandra, is our bookkeeper. Bob Finch even happily worked for BBA for a few years after retirement. He sadly passed away in recent years, leaving his beloved “Finch’s Nest” cabin to his 2 daughters.

Beavers Bend Adventures pays for aggressive print and digital advertising programs, website design, cabin photos, cabin signs, credit card fees and website updates. BBA operates 24 / 7, 365 days per week, with 3 Office Managers - working phones, e-mails and work orders / 3 Maintenance Managers / 1 Bookkeeper / 3 Cleaning Companies - who hire and train many cleaners for inside and outside cleaning, which is paid by the guests.

Beavers Bend Adventures also pays the cleaning companies to re-check all cleaning prior to each arrival and keep a watchful eye on everything. The majority of our office and cleaning staff members have been with us for many years. They are mature professionals - the backbone of the company!

Beavers Bend Adventures delivers firewood, groceries, flowers and Sweetheart Packages for guests. They also schedule and process payment for guests’ in-cabin massages. Cleaning and maintenance services are impeccable – going above and beyond to present added touches to impress. BBA provides quick repairs to save time and money for the property owners … which keeps our guests happy. Large groups return to Beavers Bend Adventures every year – family reunions, church groups and corporate retreats – usually coming back to their same “neighborhood of cabins.” They say they like our staff, who are committed to delivering professionalism with a smile. Our reputation is everything!

Guests pay a Damage Waiver, which means we pays up to $1,000 per reservation for accidental damages. The guests pay a pet fee, which means we pay for any mess or damage caused by a pet. Beavers Bend Adventures pays and manages trash services, pest control, and alarm monitoring services, then includes them on the owner statement for reimbursement. No long-term contract is required.
